Meet the Wilson Bott team - we're a friendly bunch!

Neil is a qualified chartered certified accountant and fellow of the ACCA.  Neil is a general practitioner who gained his initial experience at HJ Anderson & Co, a multi-office accountancy practice in Birmingham where he worked for 10 years, before starting his own practice in 1995. Outside of work Neil is a lifelong Manchester United fan.

Amanda is a Chartered Certified Accountant with around 30 years of experience in small and medium sized practices and joined Wilson Bott in 2000. She oversees the allocation and control of work from its arrival in the office to review and completion and also deals with any day-to-day enquiries. She is responsible for the review and finalisation of accounts prior to approval by the client. This also includes the preparation of income tax and corporation tax computations as appropriate, ensuring that Companies House deadlines are met and that corporation tax returns are completed and filed on a timely basis. Outside work she enjoys running, fitness classes and is a fan of Formula One and football.   

Paul started his tax career with HMRC, before working in the Tax Practices of two top 10 firms of chartered accountants and later mid-tier firms of chartered accountants managing their personal and corporation tax departments. He has considerable experience in direct taxes advising clients on personal, corporate, inheritance tax and capital taxes. He also advises clients on overseas taxation matters. During his career Paul has acted for high net worth individuals and dealt with sportsmen, entertainers and clients operating in the music industry. Outside office hours Paul enjoys spending time with his family, following his favourite football team and speedway.

Jayne is a part qualified Certified Accountant and assists in all areas from bookkeeping and payroll, to VAT returns and accounts preparation. Being Neil’s wife, Jayne has worked in the practice since it was set up in 1995. Jayne gained her initial experience in industry in the Accounts Departments at Dowding and Mills and then Foster Menswear. She then worked in a small Chartered Accountants office in the centre of Solihull and studied for her qualifications. Nowadays, Jayne only works part time and spends a lot of her social time walking with her spaniel “Horrid” Henry together with friends, often stopping for tea and cake. 

Nikki has over 40 years’ experience in accounts preparation, bookkeeping, VAT returns, and payroll and has worked with Wilson Bott for over 20 years. Nikki prepares the accounts ready for final review by Neil and Amanda. Nikki has used all the major accounting software including Sage, Xero and Quickbooks. In her free time, Nikki loves spending time with her growing family, travelling and following formula one.

Emma is a qualified AAT accounts assistant. She has worked both as an in-house accounts department and as part of a number of bookkeeping and accountancy practices. Here at Wilson Bott she works mainly on payroll, including auto-enrolment duties and pension’s management, as well as year-end accounts. She is also on hand for bookkeeping and VAT returns, CIS management and has Xero advisor certification. Emma enjoys camping with her children and gardening on her allotment.

Sue started her book keeping career 30 years ago working in a fast paced manufacturing company. She took a break to have a family returning to the bookkeeping world once her children were grown up. She is very well adapted to the modern methods of bookkeeping being conversant with Sage, Xero and QuickBooks. She has an exceptional eye for detail essential for her role.

Louise started working as an Accounts Assistant at Newey and Eyre Limited after leaving full time education and completed a City and Guilds course on hand written bookkeeping and payroll.  Since then she has worked as an in-house bookkeeper and payroll clerk using Pegasus Accounts System and more recently Xero.  Louise has completed her Xero Adviser Certification for both accounts and payroll.

Kate has an extensive background in the customer service industry. Having worked for McDonald’s for 6 years, she quickly progressed to the position of shift manager, responsible for a team of 30. Having joined Wilson Bott in 2021 as an Administrator, Kate is now studying towards her ATT (Association of Taxation Technicians) Level 4 qualification. Out of work Kate loves spending time with her 2 young daughters, watching Formula 1 and is obsessed with Harry Potter.
